"grinderplates"
Meatballs meets Brian's Song.
(This story is inspired by a good friend of mine who passed away from a very courageous battle with the devil leukemia. His name was Matthew Armando San Miguel and he was fifteen years-old when he died. He was a good street hockey player. And he was very funny - a whip-smart kid.)
It revolves around the activities of a ragtag ensemble of street skaters.
Call them "Grinderplaters."
They are led by Frank, a homeless teen who is wise beyond his years.
Teech/Matt, well, he's the new kid who wears modified hockey blades and he's come to join up with the gang.
Eventually, they find out that the local-area skate park called, "Navy Pier" or "Fine Angles Park," is going to be taken away from them for good.
They need money to get a lawyer to stop it.
So they enter the "Rollerblade" Street Nationals competition at Soldier Field. The Grand Prize is Kurt Cobain's guitar valued at over twenty-thousand dollars. They fight off the "Bad Crew," obstacle course and all, to try and win it.
Unfortunately, it's not the pier that needs to be helped.

"Popcorn Children"
A modernized riff on "The Little Prince."
(This story is dedicated to all the missing and exploited children with the hope that they find Liberty!)
Two small children, a brother and sister, get lost in the wilderness of the Sierra Nevada Mountains near lake Tahoe.
As their parents try to grasp the reality over their unknown safety, a crew of locals, enforcement officials, and Tahoe Valley ski bums begin a search and rescue operation.
The ski-bums run into major conflict with the authorities and pursue their own rescue.
Meanwhile, the children enjoy the company of a big bag of Liberty Cheese Popcorn, with free "Liberty" doll inside.
"Can someone draw me a sheep?"

"Bingotown"
No reference, it's just different.
This is an experimental show put on by "The Light Man" and his rock crew who try to get distressed inner city gang kids off the wrong path and onto a more reasonable pursuit.
They do it by staging a huge annual event called, "Bingotown."
It takes place in an abandoned subway station in the City of Chicago.
An alternatively underground kind of' film, shot underground...
The Light Show!
Avant garde?
